Johnny Graaff appointed as Partner at Addcounsel

Addcounsel, the Mayfair based rehabilitation and private mental health service has announced they’ve appointed Johnny Graaff as a Partner working on client development.  Johnny brings nearly 10 years’ experience of the behavioural health space and will work on promoting and delivering the pioneering ‘one client at a time’ treatment that Addcounsel offers.

Johnny founded Montrose Place with a leading team of specialists in 2010 and it soon became one of South Africa’s leading centres for the treatment of addiction and co-occurring disorders.

With the growing need and demand for the treatment of eating disorders, Johnny then set up Montrose Manor in 2011 which was South Africa’s first standalone specialist eating disorder unit and continues to this day to be a world leader in eating disorder treatment.

In 2011, Johnny set up the Montrose Foundation – a charity which offers life skills and therapy to disadvantaged youth in South Africa.

Continuing to want to offer facilities to those in recovery, Johnny launched a sober living venture in South Kensington called Cape House.  The aim of this program was to support and help stabilise clients who were returning to the UK having had received treatment in international locations.

In 2012 in partnership with Dr. Cosmo Duff Gordon Johnny invested in an intensive outpatient program and in 2014 he joined Dr. Richard Wolman and the team at Wistla. Wistla is a mobile app whose purpose is to connect like-minded people in London through common interests, including recovery face-to-face.

Speaking following his appointment, Johnny says:

“I am delighted to work with Addcounsel as I believe my background and my belief in their values and services, mean I am best placed to advise clients on accessing an exceptional service. I am excited about developing appropriate referral pathways and working closely with people in what is a field of work that is truly my vocation and passion.”

Paul Flynn, Addcounsel’s CEO said:

“Johnny has extensive knowledge of the international behavioural health space and possesses the right balance of lived experience and knowledge of forming and growing mental health services. My team are excited about working with him and continuing the expansion of our services.”
