Integrative therapy
We understand how challenging it can be to live with depression, anxiety or chronic stress, and how these conditions can impact your day-to-day life. It may seem like nobody fully understands or the problem is too large to be solved with therapy. However, integrative therapy draws on a variety of therapeutic methodologies to create an individualised treatment plan for each individual. This holistic approach selects techniques from different therapeutic orientations that are best suited to your particular situation or problem.
You may also be facing more than one condition or stressor, and certain mental health conditions can worsen underlying issues. For example you may wish to receive treatment for depression in addition to bereavement or for anxiety in addition to low self esteem or trauma. The integrative approach is person-centred, meaning it focuses on you rather than the therapist, for you are the expert on yourself. This approach aims to help you reach your full potential.
Here at Addcounsel, we take a whole-person approach to treatment. Fully personalised treatment plans and luxury, private care ensures treatment is done in a safe environment, free from external stress. Our multi-pronged approach to treatment means that we support all aspects of your health – mental, physical, and emotional – on your road to healing and recovery. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method, and our highly skilled team works with you to design a specific treatment plan for your needs. Our integrative therapists will adapt and integrate different techniques depending on your individual goals.
How Integrative therapy Works
Integrative therapy draws upon a wide range of approaches including psychodynamic, cognitive, and behavioural techniques.
Some of the different types of therapy in an integrative therapy plan may draw upon, depending on the situation and the problem, include:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that helps you better understand yourself and recognise negative thought patterns and behaviours that contribute to your condition or have a negative effect on your wellbeing. During sessions, a therapist will work with you to overcome these negative thoughts and behaviours through a variety of tools and resources.
- Psychoanalytic therapy incorporates psychoanalytic techniques to help you bring your subconscious into your conscious mind. This can help you understand some of the unconscious forces – such as memories and experiences – and motivations that affect your behaviour and decision making.
- Humanistic therapy focuses on helping people achieve their full potential through a holistic approach that focuses on free will, responsibility, and self-discovery. Therapists will help you develop a strong and healthy sense of self and focus on your strengths.
- Mindfulness is becoming increasingly popular for a range of mental health issues. It involves learning to focus on the present moment rather than concerning yourself with the past or over-thinking the future. It aims to help you avoid being overly reactive or overwhelmed and learn to act from a place of presence and awareness.
By drawing on a wide range of therapeutic approaches, integrative therapy helps patients and therapists find the best set of tools to address the complexity of your issue.
How Can Integrative therapy Help You?
Integrative therapy can help with a range of short and long-term issues, including anxiety, relationships, depression, trauma, stress, addiction, bereavement, and low self-esteem.
Due to the fact that integrative therapy makes use of multiple approaches and methodologies, the treatment plan can adapt over time based on any experiences or changes that surface during treatment. It gives you a safe, flexible and judgement-free space to explore your thoughts and feelings, guided and supported by a highly skilled therapist.
Through integrative therapy you will learn techniques and approaches to deal with both large issues and day-to-day problems you may face. This is done by first building an awareness of the memories or experiences that shape and influence your own behaviour and conditions, then work on acceptance and understanding of the past and present. The therapist will then support you through the process of creating change. This may be done by helping you re-frame certain beliefs or thought processes and providing coping skills and techniques such as mindfulness.
At Addcounsel, we want to help take you towards the best possible version of yourself and believe a holistic approach, drawing on multiple techniques and methodologies, is the best way to do this.
Our integrative person-focused therapists place great value on your needs and expectations and understand the importance of your involvement in the treatment process. You will become an active participant in your own healing.

Addcounsel are the only luxury treatment centre in London who offer a network of 80 specialists on a one-to-one basis to their clients. We pride ourselves on focussing on clinical excellence, meaning that we are client focussed but results driven. We understand what it is to work with wealthy clients; we know that it is not always easy and we know how to treat the complex and unique challenges it can entail.
We carry out a thorough diagnosis with our team of expert medical and psychiatric practitioners; this enables us to not only know what the client’s immediate problem is but the underlying factors which may be affecting it. We use this to provide a bespoke holistic treatment program in which every single aspect of the client is looked after, from their physical to their mental health. We are well equipped to match both our clients therapeutic and lifestyle needs, and we provide ongoing care plans with the goal of enabling our clients to have long lasting and consistent recovery.
Our treatment programs are delivered on a case-by-case basis. Humans are all individuals, and at Addcounsel we recognise that. This is why our program is always tailored to the needs of the client as a person, rather than trying to apply a “one-size-fits-all” treatment model. However, some of the therapies our clients can expect to receive are:
- Psychotherapy
- EMDR
- Family Systems Therapy
- Spiritual counselling
- Mindfulness
- RTMS
- Somantic Experiencing
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – CBT
- Positive psychology
- Hypnotherapy
In short, no. Our staff are very experienced in dealing with high-profile individuals and as such we understand the value of complete privacy. The only way that someone will find out that you attended Addcounsel is if you choose to tell them.
Our treatment programs are bespoke, and as such they do not have to have a set finish date. If you decide that you need to extend your stay with us, then we will extend your stay as long as you want.
If you decide that you need additional help upon leaving treatment, we offer tailored aftercare plans which can be carried out all over the world. This means that at any point you can have a member of our team with you, wherever you decide to go.
Absolutely. At Addcounsel, we pride ourselves on minimal disruption to the lifestyles of our clients. We want them to feel at home and comfortable during their time with us, so your staff can either stay with you or we can accommodate them in one of our exclusive Central London properties. We do provide a chef, but you are of course welcome to bring your own.
Addcounsel is also able to provide house staff, butlers, and private security if our clients require it.
